eHealth is a leading online marketplace for health insurance, connecting individuals, families, and small businesses with a range of health coverage options. The platform simplifies comparing, buying, and enrolling in insurance plans, offering tools and expert guidance to make healthcare accessible and tailored to users' needs.

Challenge

First-time Medicare enrollees face significant challenges when navigating the complexities of Medicare plans, often leading to confusion, frustration, and difficulty in making informed decisions. Existing online platforms frequently lack the intuitive design, personalized guidance, and educational resources necessary to simplify this process, leaving many users overwhelmed and disengaged.

To address these issues, there is a need for a user-friendly web interface that provides first-time enrollees with clear, step-by-step guidance. This interface must offer accessible educational content, personalized plan recommendations, trust-building features, and a mobile-friendly design to ensure seamless navigation across devices. By creating an engaging and supportive online experience, the platform can empower users to make confident decisions, increase enrollment rates, and foster long-term customer trust.

Result

The redesigned web interface for first-time Medicare enrollees delivered significant improvements in user engagement, retention, and conversions:

  • Increased Engagement: Visitors now spend twice as much time on the site and view over twice as many pages as other Top-of-Funnel visitors, indicating more vital interest and better content relevance.

  • Higher Email Submissions: 23% of visitors submitted their email, enabling personalized follow-ups and creating new opportunities for continued engagement.

  • Improved Retention: Visitors are 47% more likely to return to the site, showing increased trust and reliance on the platform as a resource.

  • Enhanced Enrollment Rates: Visitors are 2X as likely to apply to Medicare plans. This number is expected to grow further as more initial visitors become eligible to enroll.
